| The Honorable J. Mary Sorrell Justice of the Peace, Wedding Officiant, Notary Public Serving ALL couples including: same sex, opposite sex, all gender identities, interfaith, and secular. J. Mary Sorrell is a lesbian. Her commissioned appointment as Justice of the Peace for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is the result of her desire to serve openly and with great regard for all couples who enter into marriage. She is committed to meeting the needs of each couple-- from simple to elaborate (and everything in between). J.M. has officiated for over 250 couples from all walks of life since 2004. She has lived in western Massachusetts throughout most of her adult life. Prior to the July 31, 2008 repeal of the 1913 law, J.M. had served many couples from out of state who expressed an intention to move to Massachusetts in the future. Now, same-sex couples from out of state or out of the country may be legally married in Massachusetts regardless of where they reside now and intend to reside in the future. J.M. is based in the Northampton area, but she is available to travel to all areas of Massachusetts. Wedding Officiant rates are as follows: Northampton area: $75; Other towns and cities in western Massachusetts: $125 Other parts of Massachusetts (depends on travel time and distance) Additional services are available and may include certain fees: Couples Consultations (creating text; organizing ceremony) Planning Services (sites, transportation, catering, florist, accommodations) |
